Civil justice leaders across North America are facing deeply challenging times: IOLTA funding cuts; diminishing support from budget-strapped government agencies; fierce competition for a shrinking pie of foundation grants; and recently, an historic pandemic and economic recession that has caused demand for legal assistance to low-income families to explode. Program staff and boards must seek ways to do more with less, in the face of increasing demand for legal assistance caused by the greatest economic recession in more than 60 years.
