Our Principals

John Scanlon is a principal in the firm of JSEA Management Services, Inc., Fairfax Station, Virginia. The firm assists executives in developing their leadership agendas and in creating the organizational structure needed to execute those agendas successfully. He works with executive teams in government, business and community organizations. He has been active in the legal services program since the early 1970s when he designed evaluation systems for OEO Legal Services and the Legal Services Corporation. With Ken Smith he has recently facilitated statewide legal services strategic planning processes in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Tennessee and Illinois. John Scanlon holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute. More

Ken Smith, President of IOLTA Information Services, has over 20 years' experience helping legal services leaders in defining the results they are after and developing measures for tracking success in achieving them. He has led breakthrough efforts applying outcome measures for strategic marketing of legal services to legislators, bar leaders, community funders and potential partners. Since 1995 he has been engaged with John Scanlon coaching strategic planning task forces in several states in how to be in action on a bigger vision: full access to legal services. More
